Our team draws on backgrounds in private equity, corporate finance and company management.
We have sat on both sides of the table, as investors and as operators, and that shapes how we behave in a transaction. We know what it feels like to run a business, to employ people and to carry the responsibility that comes with both.
Our Philosphy
We believe the best returns come from buying good businesses fairly and helping them become better, rather than from financial engineering. Returns are driven as much by risk control as by opportunity selection, so we prioritise protecting capital before seeking to maximise it. We hold our investments for as long as it takes to do the job properly, and we would rather do a small number of things well than many things adequately.
We are also conscious that a company is more than its balance sheet. Reputation, culture and customer trust are built over years and lost quickly. We take care to protect what makes a business valuable in the first place.
We look for established companies with consistent profitability, a clear reason why customers choose them, and management who know their market. Sector matters less to us than quality.
We invest through majority acquisitions, management buyouts and, where the situation suits, minority growth capital. Our assumptions at acquisition are deliberately conservative, and we apply the same level of scrutiny to every transaction, large or small.
Once invested, we support management with strategy, acquisitions, governance and finance, while leaving the day to day running of the business with the people who know it best.
